Gone is 2004... and here is 2005

December 2004 just whizzed by and now it’s January 2005… For the last month of the previous year, loads of things happened… Good and bad… Happy and sad… There was Christmas, where everyone was soaking up the festive cheer and then came the devastating tsunami that took out so many innocent victims in our neighboring regions like Indonesia, Thailand, India, further away the coastal bits so Somalia. It will take some time before everyone recovers from this untimely tragedy. It is a new year, so let us all look to brighter days and not lose hope. Let the world heal. Take its time… Meanwhile, if you haven’t done your bit, do go to the nearest place to pledge your donation. Be it the NTUC in your neighborhood or the Red Cross. At the same time, this is a lesson for us to treasure all the ones that we love so dearly around us…

For Ms Ho [ from Peirce Secondary ] & her husband, who passed on in December 2004 in New Zealand. I'd always remember you as a warm, kind and helpful teacher, who will go all the way out to help the kids at school. It is teachers like you who will inspire so many others... Students and teachers alike, to make that extra bit special for everyone... You will be missed dearly. Thanks for helping me around during my short stay with Peirce.

Having said all that, I recount this year and I am thankful for the things that have happened. I am thankful for my family which I love so much… Though I do not say it out loud. But I am… I’m thankful for my friends… The ones from Maris… The TP ones… [ Esp. my Slumber Gang ], the IAD people [ You know who you are! ], my army folks… Be it BMT, SISPEC, SIW or 6SIR… The people at Peirce Secondary and Beatty Secondary. People that I got to know from work… Thankful for my job... and Cha Cha… Ke ke ke…

On a happier note. Congrats to Patrick and Liting for finally getting hitched. [ Throws confetti into the air. ] Now, 25 December holds a new meaning for you guys. Smart move, Patrick. Ke ke ke… I’m sure everyone can’t wait till Chinese New Year next year… Especially Hans… Kiddin’! Hmm… So when’s your bundle of joy coming?

It’s finally 2005… HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Goodness, hasn’t it been a long way… I’m starting to feel so old… Ha! Anyway, like 2004, we ushered in this New Year with some mad partying at Attica. Well, last year I was at Koh Phangan’s Full Moon Party… But it’s not too bad in Singapore this year either… Honestly. Will make it a point to hit Koh Phangan again later this year for the 2006 countdown. HA! Hopefully. Eh, Joey, you lucky girl huh… Got big big ang pow from all of us from the Slumber Gang for your B’day huh… Happy Birthday, BAKA! Ha ha… Not bad huh… Last day of the year still can get a l’il windfall. =P Here’s wishing everyone an awesome year ahead!

To kick off the first day of the year… I went to Corrinne May’s Concert at the Esplanade with Ian [ my good ol’ BMT buddy ]. She was so Good… Just love the way she sings… It’s not everyday that you can find a local talent that can play the piano, guitar, sings, and write her own songs… Now that is truly Talent! Corrinne has this beautiful quality in her singing. She’s sounds so soulful… Can’t wait for her new album to be launched. The other highlight in the concert was this uncle that kinda stunned all the audience when he suddenly started dancing in front of the stage at the last song… Think it was to “L’il Superhero Girl. So funny… Think he’s such a sport… Thing with Singaporeans, is that we are all too afraid to let ourselves go and enjoy ourselves… For the fear of making an absolute spectacle of ourselves… What the hell… It won’t kill if you did a l’il jig if you think the music is good. Ha! Lets do that the next time ok? Ha! By the way Ian… I still think the Angel song is so me lor… Bleahz… [ Pukes ]

What's my New Year resolution? Honestly, I'm still like trying to decide between.

Option [1] Going to the gym & working out more. Swim...
Option [2] Save more money... Spend less...
Option [3] Make time to get my driving license...
Option [4] Try to apply to be an Air Steward with SIA.

Think I'd try to make everything happen lar. [ Knocks myself on the head! ]

Hmm… It’s raining still outside… Let the rain fall… and soon it will no more… Because the rain will stop and the dark clouds will pass… The sun will shine and we will all be warm…

Soon…

Tune for the day

Journey
Corrinne May

It's a long long journey
Till I know where I'm supposed to be
It's a long long journey
And I don't know if I can believe
When shadows fall and block my eyes
I am lost and know that I must hide
It's a long long journey
Till I find my way home to you

Many days I've spent
Drifting on through empty shores
Wondering what's my purpose
Wondering how to make me strong

I know I will falter
I know I will cry
I know you'll be standing by my side
It's a long long journey
And I need to be close to you

Sometimes it feels no one understands
I don't even know why I do the things I do
When pride builds me up till I can't see my soul
Will you break down these walls and pull me through

Cause it's a long long journey
Till I feel that I am worth the price
You paid for me on Calvary
Beneath those stormy skies

When Satan mocks and friends turn to foes
It feels like everything is out to make me lose control
Cause it's a long long journey
Till I find my way home to you

To you...
