A Race and A Week of Greens

Hi there folks... Ok... Just got back from my 1 week in-camp training... It's a good change from going to work... Kinda miss the idea of not having to think what to wear everyday, having a fixed schedule, talking trash to a bunch of guys all day long, running after people who have happily wandered off into the vegetation in search for durains and rambutans, and feeding the mozzies outfield... Ha ha... But it's back to reality again... Dammed... But I guess the 1 week was really good to catch up with friends from the battalion and 1 BMT section mate ( Ting Wee! That's you! ) who was coincidentally back for reservist in the neighbouring school within the same camp. Till the next ICT!!! Looking forward to that one. Hee... Boon, thanks for the Ride to and from Camp!

Here's a view of what's outside the window from my bed after lights out on the last night before booking out.

Prior to the reservist and my short hiatus from the office, Clarice and I took part in this National Geographic race called CityChase. I was too lazy to think of a name for the team and had quickly muttered off "Team Powerpuff" as a joke... But Clarice was really efficient, so we got stuck with that one... It's kinda like Amazing Race meets Fear Factor... So we travel around the country... do trail running, chomp on some bugs and chili, thread a jasmine garland in little india ( While Clarice had to 'administer' henna treatment on some members of the public ) and climb some ropes etc. over a quick 6 hours. Will definately join the race again next year... Came in 27th out of 150ish teams... Of which only 67 teams managed to complete their tasks to return before the race closed. We were pretty close... Poof goes the whole idea of representing Singapore in the Rome race... Oh well... Better luck next time I guess... They are going to air this instalment of the race come early 2008 on the telly, National Geo channel... So catch it on cable if you can yah? Haha.... In the meantime, you can go onto The CityChase website at http://www.citychase.com/ to look at the photos and results the organisers uploaded for the Singapore leg. Many thanks to Andrea, Stephanie and her Valcucini folks at Hugo's, Wee Boon, King Yong, Jane, Zequan, Joyce, Dee, Fae, whom I called during the race to help... But a big thank you to Zaihan, who help so so much by speeding us dead accurate information as such speed! Merci!

To close this blog entry... HAPPY BIRTHDAY FARUQ! And congrats to Chuan Seng for getting the LKY Scholarship! Really proud of you!

Oh well... It's back to work again... Argh!
